At FBCW, we want to be apart of God's global purpose and His command to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation". We believe the love of God compels us to love people, and to love more people. We want to share the good news of Jesus where He isn't known and to the very ends of the earth. To best live this out as a church, we have partnered with various mission partners around the world, serving in different capacities. You can find our mission partners listed below with information about their specific regions and mission efforts, as well as ways to stay up to date on what God is doing across this world. Join us as we pray for our world, for our mission partners, and for our church to be obedient in the call of God.
Zack and Carly Brady and family, serve with Young Life in Blantyre, Malawi. In Malawi there are just over 18 million people; roughly 75 percent of them are under the age of 24 years old. The high schools across the country are at maximum capacity, and there is a very real spiritual battle going on for the souls of adolescents in Malawi and around the world. The Brady's and the Young Life team are focused on reaching those 13.5 million students across the country, by specifically focusing on international schools in the city of Blantyre. Currently there are six different schools averaging 800 students, made up international students, many who do not come from Christian homes. The goal is to lead these students to Christ, to impact their families and to gain access to parts of the world where they may not be any gospel presence. From a young age, Sierra Craven felt called to a life of missions in South Asia. In September 2019, Sierra began a 16 month global internship in South Asia through Bethany Global University. The internship will be a year and a half of cultural immersion. Over these 16 months, Sierra will be participating in courses, studying local languages and cultures, working alongside long term missionaries in the region, and sharing the love of Jesus in a region where His name is not known. The ancient Silk Road runs through the heart of Central Asia and since the fall of the Soviet Union, the people have been working hard to establish themselves as an independent nation. The spark of the Gospel has started and the need for global workers is needed to fan the flames into a multiplying effort. Our partner family in Central Asia has been working in-country since 2011 to preserve and promote the gospel message in a Muslim culture. Their role is one of integrating business, mission, and family in a way that helps to engage locals in a meaningful way while demonstrating lives changed by the grace of our God through the blood of our Savior. This family supports local Christians through a house church and by being a place of refuge and learning where conversion from a Muslim family to the Christian faith can come with dire consequences. Barlanark is a scheme of roughly 3,800 people in the East End of Glasgow, Scotland. Its people are full of pride, banter, and community spirit. There are many great things about Barlanark. The local non-denominational primary is ranked as one of the best schools in Scotland. It 's home to many residents who have spent their whole lives here and have no intention of leaving. Yet the Scottish Government also ranks it as one of the most deprived areas of Scotland. The only real solution is the hope that comes from believing in Jesus. In 2013, 20schemes partnered with Harper Church in Glasgow to plant a church in Barlanark, led by planters Pete Stewart and Pete Bell. Hope Community Church launched in January 2018 and has seen many people be saved by Jesus. Hope Community Church is now an established church that is making Jesus known in Barlanark and beyond by proclaiming the gospel, by making disciples, and by living in community.
