Meals Ministry

The Meals Ministry is dedicated to showing the love of Christ through meal delivery to those who need some extra help for a time due to illness, injury, childbirth, adoption, the passing of a loved one, etc. Delivering a meal is much more than the food that is provided. It shows God’s care for His people, checks in on those who may not be able to leave the house, and lifts the burden of meal preparation at a time when it is harder to think about. We strive to show people they are seen and loved.

Meals may be prepared at home or by a restaurant. Cooking is not necessary.

If you would like to sign up to help with Meals, please text @fbcwmea to 81010, or contact ministry leader Elaine Brown

Salvation Army Dinners

On the second Saturday of each month, our Care Groups serve a dinner at the local Salvation Army. Our groups plan and prepare a meal and interact with those they are serving, creating a positive experience for those less fortunate.

Latrobe Street Mission

Latrobe Street Mission is a homeless shelter located on the corner of 19th and Latrobe St. in Parkersburg.  It has served the Mid-Ohio Valley since 2012, and provides basic immediate needs while guiding individuals towards self-sufficiency. FBCW partners with Latrobe Street by giving to its cause financially, donating items of need, and serving meals regularly to residents.

Operation Christmas Child

Every year, FBCW participates in Operation Christmas Child, an international initiative by Samaritan's Purse that focuses on supporting and providing for children in third-world countries. This comes in the form of filling shoeboxes with toys, stuffed animals, clothing items, school supplies, and more. Operation Christmas Child is a chance to partner with many different churches in many different places to make a difference around the world.
